Timeline - History of the Universe
Timeline - History of the Universe
1,499 SEK (incl. VAT)
This unique timeline stretches a full 7 meters and presents significant events from both the universe's and Earth's history. Each event is accompanied by a descriptive image and a brief explanation to highlight its significance.
The linear scale provides viewers with a clear understanding of the vast time intervals these events encompass. You will gain a distinct sense of when and how our solar system formed and how long life on Earth has evolved.
The brief explanations cover a wide range of concepts related to various scientific subjects, including terms such as the Big Bang, exoplanets, black holes, light-years, galaxies, nebulae, star formation, elementary particles, atoms, spectra, radiation, expansion, molecules, atmosphere, ozone layer, evolution, photosynthesis, greenhouse gases, fossil fuels, cells, cell nuclei, and more. A glossary* will be sent digitally to you when your order is completed.
This pre-printed timeline is an excellent addition to school environments or public spaces and will arouse curiosity about the wonders of the universe.
The Timeline and Education
The timeline can be part of education and used as support for understanding the development of the universe, Earth, and life. The size is designed to fit in a classroom where students can get an overview through pictures and headings from a distance. From a closer perspective, they can read about the different events.
In the curriculum for primary schools in Sweden, it is stated in the central content that teaching should address:
- The origin, structure, and development of the universe and conditions for finding planets and life in other solar systems. (Physics)
- The origin, development, and diversity of life and mechanisms of evolution. (Biology)
In upper secondary school (Sweden), the development of the universe is part of the central content for Physics 2 and Environmental Science 2:
- Orientation about current models and theories for describing the large-scale development of the universe and galaxy, star, and planet formation. (Physics 2)
- The development of the universe as an explanation for the origin of matter and the composition of the Earth. (Environmental Science 2)
- The structure of matter, properties of substances, interaction, cycles, and indestructibility. (Environmental Science 2)
- Mechanisms of evolution and the development of organisms. (Environmental Science 2)
